A Taste of Home

Each year, the One Book Fellows put together a project that relates the themes of the year's book to the local Chicagoland, and campus, community. In this year's book, Crying in H Mart, author Michelle Zauner delicately crafts a tale of cultural identity and grief, and how food serves as a bridge between the two — simultaneously grounding her memories of her late mother as well as her biracial, Korean-American identity with the recipes she remembers so dearly. The below cookbook, titled "A Taste of Home," is a compilation of recipes listed by members of the One Book One Northwestern team, each of which hold some kind of personal, and perhaps even cultural, significance.
